Direct-first

Meet first. Then go direct.

Connect helps participants find each other, then uses a direct route between their devices whenever the network allows it.

In short

Connect helps both devices meet. Then the session goes direct.

At the start, Connect helps both devices find each other and test a direct route. When that route is available, voice, video, screen sharing, chat and files travel directly between the devices.

01

Create a room.

Connect gives you a short code. Send it to the person you want to join.

02

Connect helps both devices meet.

At the start, they get what they need to test whether a direct connection can be established.

03

The session goes device to device.

When the network allows it, voice, video, screen sharing, chat and files travel directly between participants.

04

The network must allow a direct connection.

Strict NAT, VPN or firewall rules can prevent the devices from establishing a direct route. In that case the session or individual features may be unavailable.

Files

No mandatory cloud upload first.

On a direct route, a file can travel from one device to the other without first being stored on a Connect cloud drive. Connect therefore does not impose a cloud-storage quota on direct file transfer.

Quality

Your devices and network set the practical limit.

Resolution, frame rate and transfer speed depend on the source, codec, CPU/GPU and available bandwidth rather than a single fixed media-server preset.

Privacy

The product is designed for transport, not session archiving.

Connect does not require an account and is not designed to collect the content of your voice, video, screen, chat or files. Exact security properties are documented for each published build.

Network

Direct connectivity depends on the network.

Connect does not currently provide a relay route. If a direct route cannot be established, connection may fail until the network conditions change.
